Tin Man

The Hardest of Men
Playing a silly guitar
Now THAT is metal

Swallowing your pride
In front of your ‘claimed ladies’
An act of true love

Then the doors blew off
For the storm had been too much
Even in the eye

Outside the storm raged
They kept straight faces, but knew
This metal man had won

They tried everything
Even poisoning his mind
Each move strengthened him

For the man played on
And his song grew deafening
Hanging on the chords

In spite of the storm
His song was all you could hear
And those that listened…

Well, the audience
WAS the band, souls forgotten
And truths never told
